Green Turtle Restaurant In Barra

Beautiful Boutique beachfront restaurant probably the best on that side of the world, Barra. Lovely food and beautiful location and restaurant with friendly staff.Food is slightly overpriced but I guess you paying for the location. Definitely worth returning

Quite possibly the best meal we have ever had. We both felt that we could eat the starters every day for the rest of our lives. I had the ceviche and my partner had the crab salad. Oh my it was good. The rest of the meal was excellent too and the cocktails were the best we’d had in Mozambique. The proprietor was lovely too.

The Green Turtle restaurant, nestled by the beach, offers a delightful dining experience. Despite the unavailability of outdoor seating due to rain, the cozy indoor space was brimming with patrons. The ambiance, with the soothing sound of waves, provided a serene backdrop for a meal or even a good read. The menu boasted a delectable starter, cavishe, a tuna-based delight that set a promising tone. Seafood enthusiasts would find joy in the oceanic offerings, accompanied by a selection of well-crafted drinks. The rustic charm of the place added to the overall appeal. Service was commendable, despite the bustling atmosphere. However, not all dishes lived up to expectations. The beef lacked the desired seasoning, and a friend found the fish disappointingly bland. Despite these setbacks, the overall experience at Green Turtle was positive, attributed to the inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and flavorsome dishes, excluding a couple of misses. It's a place where the beach, good food, and a good book can come together for a satisfying escapade.

Some of the best food you will ever eat, add to that the location and views. I would rush here before they have to close at the end of January 2026.

It was the best restaurant, the fish super fresh and all the experience amazing! What a lovely restaurant close to the sea, the natural juices só taste! I highly recommend you to eat here!!!!! The best food!!

Best food I've eaten in Mozambique. It’s a Mozambique star ! Joelle and Francois only work with fresh local produce, they have their own vegetable garden and fishermen, it's so tasty, the herbs used sublimate each of the dishes, we enjoyed the ceviche, the tuna tartare with lemon kombawa is a real treat, the crab salad is delicious and the scallop risotto, not forgetting the desserts, all very good. Even the wine is good here Congratulations bravo. It's magnificent. We will come back for sure Alexia & Guillaume

I have to say that the food is absolutely incredible especially in the beautiful setting. I would highly recommend it. Pricing is higher than average but so worth it. My only dislike were the vendors right at your feet trying to sell to you as you're trying to eat your meals. Slight invasion of privacy if it can be said that way. The hosts were super friendly and the restaurant staff were just as lovely.

We had an amazing meal - from the drinks to starters, from main course to the desert everything was amazing and we had a great time! Certainly worth the visit - i just had hoped for more guests for the restaurant
